It’s the end of the year and many of you are spending down budgets and making plans for 2022. As you make your list and check it twice, don’t be afraid to add something big and bold, you never know what you might get – dreams do come true.
My grandmother instructed my sister and me to find the cards in the Christmas tree and to go ahead and open them.
Slightly disappointed that we received just a card for Christmas, we were not overly excited. We read our cards which instructed us to go out to the patio where we would find our presents. Well, things just got interesting!
We darted out to find my grandpa standing with a pony on either side of him. Sugar, a sag-backed fuzzy mare, and Mr. Peabody, a Shetland pony that clearly had a mind of his own.
It was a Christmas I will never forget.
Now 40+ years later, the memory of those special times with family, my grandparents, and my dad especially, is the true gift. I treasure those memories.
